Trader Education · Prerecorded Workshop

How much could your next losing trade take out of your account?

You studied the chart. You picked the entry. Then you sized up, because this setup looked too good to pass up. Before that order fills, you should already know exactly what happens if it fails. This workshop is the framework I use on my own account to answer that question every single time.

Three losses at 5% takes $1,426 off a $10,000 account, and the next trades have to earn 16.6% before you are back where you started. Losing streaks are normal. Every trader gets them. Whether the account survives one is decided before the order is placed, by the size.

The moment it goes wrong

Think about the last loss you wanted back.

You remember the trade. You probably remember the exact number. What most traders do not remember is the two seconds before the click, when they had the size box open and typed in more than the plan allowed, because the setup was clean and the last loss needed to be made up.

If you could reopen that order window right now, what would you change? Almost nobody says the entry. Almost everybody says the size, or the stop, or the fact that they never decided what a loss would cost before they took it.

That decision deserves your full attention while the money is still in your account. It is easy to put off studying risk when there is another chart to check, and easiest of all when you are certain the next trade will make up for the last one. That certainty is the exact condition under which accounts get emptied.

Every trader has an edge on some setups. Very few traders have a rule for what they are allowed to lose. The second one is what keeps the first one alive.

I have been teaching traders at TexasWest Capital since 2017, through every bull and bear market since. The people who are still trading years later are rarely the ones who called the most tops. They are the ones who never took the loss that ended the account. This workshop is how I make sure I am one of them.

The arithmetic nobody sizes for

Losses cost more than they look.

A drawdown and the gain needed to recover it are never the same number. Lose ten percent and you need eleven back. Lose half and you need to double. The deeper the hole, the more the market has to hand you before you are even back to zero, and the market hands nothing to anyone on a schedule.

Risk management is the discipline of staying in the shallow rows of this table. Nothing else in trading matters if you leave them.

Inside the recording

The framework I use on my own account. Not a theory of it.

Risk Management to Riches is a prerecorded workshop. No live date to make, no replay window to miss. You watch it when you have the attention to spare, and you go back to it the next time a setup looks too good to size correctly. It is built around the questions a trader has to answer before the order goes in, in the order they have to be answered.

How much of the account is this one trade allowed to lose?

The number that gets decided before the entry, and the reason it has to be decided first.

How do I size the position so the stop sets the risk instead of my mood?

Working backward from the invalidation point to the size, instead of forward from how confident I feel.

How do I protect the capital I will need for the trades that come after this one?

The whole point. Risk management is about being funded for the next hundred trades. This one is only the first of them.

Why nine dollars

A full risk workshop from a firm that has been teaching traders since 2017 could sell for a great deal more than this, and I will be honest about the reason it does not. Nine dollars is low enough that price stops being the excuse. If you have been telling yourself you will get serious about risk after the next trade, this removes the last reason to keep saying that.

What I get out of it

You see how I teach. If it is useful, some of you will go on to the Liquidity Reads, Liquidity Layer, or Trading Floor memberships, where this framework is applied live across fifteen markets every week. If it is not, you paid nine dollars to find out and you keep the recording. You keep the recording and can decide whether our teaching fits how you learn.

Questions

Before you buy.

Is this live or recorded?

Recorded. You buy it, you get access, you watch it whenever you have the attention for it. There is no session to attend and no replay window that expires.

Is this the same framework you use, or a beginner version of it?

The same one. The risk rules I trade my own account with are the ones in the recording. Risk management does not have an advanced version. It has a version you follow and a version you do not.

I trade crypto. Does this apply to me? I trade stocks. Does this apply to me?

Yes to both. Position sizing and stop placement are arithmetic. The market you apply them to changes the volatility numbers you plug in, and nothing else.

Do I need to be a TexasWest Capital member?

No. The workshop is a one-time purchase on its own. Membership is separate and completely optional.

What do I get after I pay?

Access to the recording through members.texaswestcapital.com, where the rest of the TexasWest Capital education lives. Watch it as many times as you need.

Will this tell me where to enter?

No. This is the part of trading that most courses skip, and the part that decides whether you are still trading next year. Entries are taught in the memberships. Risk is taught here, first, because without it the entries do not matter.

Last question

If you could reopen that order window, what would you change?

Make the change now, before the next one opens. Nine dollars, one recording, the framework I trade with.
